What happens at this event?

Kurinuki is the traditional Japanese pottery art, which implies hand-building and carving from a single block of clay.

FAQ's
How many people will there be in each class?
There will be up to 8 students per session. We pride ourselves in our relaxed intimate environment allowing more one on one time with the teacher.
What Should I Wear?
While the majority of clay can easily be washed out of your clothing, working with terracotta and deeper colours can leave stains. Please come dressed in clothing you do not mind getting dirty and can easily be put through the washing machine. We will provide each maker with an apron for their use during the session.
What Should I bring?
Each class will be fully stocked with all the materials and tools needed. All clay, glazes and firings are included within the cost of the course. Please bring your own sketchbook and drawing/writing materials for note taking and design sketching.
Will there be food provided?
We will provide a range of teas and coffees and some light biscuits. If you would like some a more substantial meal we are conveniently located near Mercato Metropolitano and Borough Market where you can find a range of local restaurants and delis.
Do you have disability access?
Our studio is fully wheelchair accessible. If you have any special needs or requirements please let us know in advance and we will try and accommodate you as best as possible.

The Kurinuki workshop is one of the many workshops/courses I have attended at Decima, and am never disappointed. I gained new skills and techniques, using tools I haven't worked with before, under the expert guidance of Netty Lindenberg. I am the proud owner of a delicately faceted tea cup! I highly recommend this course.
